Academy Seventh-Twelfth Grade
Our seventh-twelfth grade academy classe will meet twice a week. We focus on team work, group projects, and fun activities to help kids this age build friendships. All classes can be used as a fun supplement to your homeschool. If you would like to use these classes for High school credit there will be additional at home activities that need to be completed to meet the credit hour requirements. We will study animal classification, plant and animal cells, and genetics. Students will study meteorology, weather, and climate. We will learn about soil conservation, ecology, and a fun study of plate tetonics. We will have units on magnets, bouyancy, the periodic table, and physical/chemical change. We have units on US history, home economics, psychology, principles of art, and personal fitness. Students will build frienships as we work on a number of group build projects in our bridge building, lego club, and screen free coding classes.

Utah History

Lego Club
Ancient civilizations
In this fun 6 week class students will learn about all Utah history. We will study Native Americans, pioneers, and other immigrant groups that settled in Utah. We will incorporate map skills and a study of ecosystems.
This class will introduce principles of engineering such as force and leverage. Students will work in groups to complete lego build challanges.
12 classes
In this class we talk about ancient Rome, Greece, Egypt, Mesopotamia, Myan, Inca, Aztec civilizations. We will discuss similarities and differences between the civilizations and understand the contibutions made. We will complete art projects for each civilization. Students will have an opportunity to present a report on an area of interest to them.
Principles of art
Students will be introduced to the principles of art through hands on projects. We will work with a variety of art mediums.
10 classes
Genetics
In this class we will discuss animal classificiation. We will study plant and animal cells. Students will be introduced to DNA, dominant and recessive triats, genetic probabilities.
Home economice
This simple class uses a free online curriculum that your child can work through at home. We will meet on the first Friday afternoon of each month to supplement their learning will fun activities including baking bread, a cookie cook off, and cake decorating.
US History 1
We will learn about US history through projects and games. Students will presesent an individual and group project throughout the year. We will have optional movie nights to watch films about what we are learning. Students seeking credit will need to do additional at home reading.
Personal Fitness
For this .5 credit class students will track their workouts and progress at home. Each week we will complete challenges or play group games to help them complete their hours. We will discuss wellness, mental health, cardiovascular fitness, flexibility, muscle training, HIT, functional fitness, and healthy choices.
Work with us
