Academy Fourth-Sixth Grade
Our fourth-sixth grade academy classe will meet twice a week. Students will build friendships as they collaberate on a number of group projects. We will learn US geography in our 'traveling around the States' class. Students will prepare and present a state research report. Students will learn about Utah history, all the people that call Utah home, and songs about our state. We will begin a study of US history from the colonies through reconstruction. In our mock election we will learn about government. We will complete a unit on ancient civilizations including creating art from each culture. Our science study will keep us very busy as we learn about rocks & fossils, the water cycle, ecosystems, and animal classification. We will explore concepts of force, mass, bouyacy, and magnets. Our final science unit will introduce students to states of matter, including physical and chemical change, where we will put the scientific method to work. Students will explore engineering in our 'Rosie Reveer Engineer' and lego engineering classes.

Utah History
Lego Engineering

In this fun 6 week class students will learn about Utah history. We will study Native Americans, pioneers, and other immigrant groups that settled in Utah. We will incorporate map skills and a study of ecosystems. Our unit concludes with a concert for parents to show off our art work and songs.
10 classes
This class will introduce principles of engineering such as force and leverage. Students will work at their own pace to complete lego build challanges. There are opportunities to work independenty or with a partner. This is a self paced class. We will create a photobook to record all their creations
12 classes
Rosie Revere Engineer
We will explore concepts of engineering with the story Rosie Revere. Students will learn to observe and make adaptations to improve their designs.
Principles of art
Students will be introduced to the principles of art through hands on projects. We will work with a variety of art mediums.

Traveling the States
We will travel across the US learning about each regions people, physical features, and economies. Students will present an oral report on a State.

Our students are blessed when you share your talents with them. We love to have parents teach classes or help in our classroom. You can teach one of our classes or come up with your own. Some of the options for helping in our third-fifth grade class are listed, or chat with us about what you would love to add.

Teach a special one day class on any subject you love. Dance, knitting, science... 2 hour commitment. $20 tuition compensation
